Samsung Galaxy QWERTY Android Phone Leaked [PICS]

Remember the old HTC phones that first came onto the market that had the cool keyboard in the QWERTY layout that slid from beneath the full screen display? Well fans of the old school phones should be in raptures, as Engadget have reported that T-Mobile will soon be releasing a “clicky” slider phone with a QWERTY keyboard. Images of the phone have leaked from TMoNews and these clear up a mystery and at the same time provide the model name, the SGH-T699.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy QWERTY phone leaked

The SGH-T699 was seen last month when it was posted in a user agent profile that had leaked. It showed the device as having a 720p display and a 5 megapixel camera on the rear. It is thought that the device will run either the S3 or dual-core S4 chip from Qualcomm and it should have Android 4.0 ICS out of the box.

It may also have a camera on the front and it has been suggested that notifications come by way of LED lights. However at the moment these are rumors and we are a little skeptical at the moment until we get actual confirmation. While this is not a super mega handset to get tech lovers in a flutter, if you love the “clicky” feel of tactile QWERTY keyboards, then device should be right up your street if you are on the T-Mobile network.

At the moment, there aren’t any high-end Android phones with a QWERTY keyboard. If you had to pick, the best would likely be the Motorola DROID 4. So while it is no Samsung Galaxy S3 killer, this potential Galaxy QWERTY slider may do pretty well in terms of sales.
